Borderlands – Colomboscope x SNAFU (2023)

Borderlands focuses on social fragmentation and inequality in Sri Lanka. Observing how the logic of border making and majoritarian privilege codes national emblems such as the flag, the artist explores man-made divisions across regions, religions, and ethnicities. The artist uses wood combined with steel, concrete and glass shards to remind the audience that the lines which divide us are social constructs, imagined or manufactured divisions that are nevertheless violent and concrete in their material or physical form.
